They are an organization that works to preserve the dignity of the dead by recovering their bodies and ensuring they receive respect and proper treatment according to their religious rites (they have other religious wings aside from Jewish). I don’t know what the Palestinian equivalent of this organization is, but if it exists please share it and support it. There’s a lot of dead and unfortunately there’s probably going to be many more and they all deserve dignity.
The greatest mitzvah is helping a soul along to its burial, because it’s the only mitzvah where you cannot be thanked by the person you’re helping.

@ gentiles: if you choose to take a stand and advocate for palestinians (as you should - if you’re able) you need to also research antisemitic dogwhistles & the history of antisemitism in the pro-palestinian movement; the movement is not inherently antisemitic, but there are antisemitic expressions of it because antisemitism is a hatred that permeates through every section of society.
when you neglect to ensure your activism isn’t just thinly-veiled antisemitism, you are not only harming jews but delegitimising an important cause. you have a duty to educate yourself for the sake of both jews and palestinians.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but famed civil rights leaders Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X were not talking about pogroms or shooting up music festivals and daycares when they said “a riot is the language of the unheard” and resistance “by any means necessary” respectively.

What Al Jazeera English (part of the Qatari-state owned media group Al Jazeera) tweeted:
Israeli PM’s office has confirmed that Israel declined to accept two Israeli hostages from Hamas, stating that they will not address what is considered to be “mendacious propaganda” by the group.
What the Al Jazeera English post their tweet links to actually says as the headline:
Hamas says it tried to release two captives but Israel refused. Israel says it will not respond to “mendacious propaganda”
The Al Jazeera English tweet is completely misleading about the very thing that Al Jazeera itself was reporting.
Basically—
The English arm of a state owned (Qatar) media organization tweets: Israel confirmed they declined to accept two hostages.
The state owned media organization’s own English Website page that tweet links to: Hamas says they tried to return hostages. Israel says it will not respond to Hamas’s propaganda.
Hey, how did Qatar (and by extension, Al Jazeera) get this claim directly from Hamas, by the way? Good question! Al Jazeera actually tells you in their extended article about it!:
Abu Obeida, a spokesman for the al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s armed wing, said that the mediator Qatarwas told of the group’s intention to release the Israelis on Friday, the same day it freed Americans Judith Tai Ranaan and her daughter Natalie.
“We informed our Qatari brothers yesterday evening that we would be releasing Nourit Yitshaq and Yokhefed Lifshitz for humanitarian reasons and without expecting anything in return. However, the Israeli occupation government refused to accept them,” Obeida said on Telegram on Saturday.
Al Jazeera also reports in that article what the Israeli PM said, which is ALSO not what their tweet claims!
In a brief statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said: “We will not refer to false propaganda by Hamas. We will continue to act in every way to return all the kidnapped and missing people home.”
Qatar, which helped mediate Friday’s release, had no immediate comment.
So the state who is functioning as a mediator in hostage release negotiations also owns the news network who made this tweet AND subsequent articles. The tweet explicitly states the Israeli PM’s office “confirmed,” that Israel declined hostage releases. But the actual articles don’t say that at all, AND point out Qatar is the middleman for negotiations.
Is Hamas’s claim that Israel refused hostage releases true? I don’t know. Neither do you. Neither does Al Jazeera, since they literally asked Qatari representatives for comment and they weren’t given one. Al Jazeera reported their Hamas source told them via telegram that they told the Qatari mediators about this offer, and Israel refused. They also cite another Hamas spokesperson:
Hamas spokesman Khaled al-Qaddoumi told Al Jazeera the Israeli government “was not serious” about the release of the captives.
But the Qatari mediators didn’t comment. Israel said they would ignore Hamas’s propaganda. Essentially they were saying they weren’t deigning to respond to this claim.
So to be clear:
Qatar’s government is the third party mediator in hostage negotiations and they officially said nothing/did not respond to Al Jazeera.

The Qatari owned media network Al Jazeera’s website doesn’t actually report or say that at all! The tweet doesn’t say what the article says.
Literally every actor present has its own possible agendas. The kidnappers have an agenda in making additional statements about their hostages. The Israeli PM has an agenda regarding ignoring these statements both in general and made outside of 3rd party mediation. The Qatari government has an agenda for why they didn’t respond for comment. The Qatari news Al Jazeera has an agenda for mentioning both claims in an article/live updates blog, but then falsely representing the Israeli PM’s statement in a tweet.
All of these actors have an agenda. All of the information could be propaganda. Something can even be technically true and also be propaganda, so long as it is presented in a biased or misleading manner.
But we don’t know if it’s true, and the tweet is blatantly false by Al Jazeera’s own reporting. This is why the tweet/headline is not the article. Also idk we might consider that kidnappers MIGHT be biased regarding the information they share regarding the people they kidnapped. Maybe you can’t trust that they’re invested in telling the truth about human beings they kidnapped any more than you can trust a military about its offensive invasion and whether or not it bombed a hospital.
